EV-Specific Striking Design

The Punch EV flaunts a new face likeness to that of the ICE sibling. Instead of the familiar Tata grille, a neat body-colored panel with charging port on either flank shines striking LED light bars. It boasts new wheels with 16-inch aero-style alloys and exclusive EV badges to boost its electric identity. Exclusive blue accents inside the cabin remind occupants they’re driving the future. Tata still boasts this high-ground clearance of 187mm despite the EV conversion.

Advanced Electric Powertrain

Built on the Tata Ziptron EV tried and proven architecture for the Punch EV, the EV would provide two battery options- a 25kWh pack with 300 km range (ARAI) and a 35 kWh variant, offering 400 km. A permanent magnet synchronous motor produces 90PS and 190Nm, thereby making it peppy and great for city commuting. Range anxiety is now a thing of the past, courtesy of multiple regeneration modes, fast charging from 10-80% in just 50 minutes.

Feature-Rich Tech Cabin

At the front of the Punch EV is a sight on the immeasurable growth of Tata on premium interiors. In the middle of it all is the 10.25-inch touchscreen that comes without wires, boasts an Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and does the connected car kind of thing. Crucial vehicle metrics such as the real-time prediction of the range are housed in a digital instrument cluster. Other Premium enhancements include automatic climate control, leatherette seats, and air purifier. Harmon sound system ensures that fun is guaranteed for every ride.

Safety Is Not Compromised

Tata does not compromise on safety. The standard Punch EV has six airbags, ESP, and hill hold control. The battery pack is IP67 rated and protected with a robust metal casing. The EV gets all four-disc brakes, which provide a stronger feel for stops. Tata’s high-tech battery management system ensures that the performance is optimal all-weather.

Pricing

Rightly and aggressively priced within the range of ₹12-15 lakh (ex-showroom, subsidy not accounted for), the Punch EV will range much below their competitor’s price tag like that of the Citroen eC3. There is also an 8-year and 1.6 lakh km battery warranty by Tata to alleviate concerns about longevity. The same public subsidies will translate an effect from the price.

The Best City Vehicle

The Punch EV carries over functionality as is from its original analog version to a more electricized realm. The fact that it is small makes it great for city traffic, while its ground clearance makes it more manageable when such random adventure is taken. For young urbanites, the Punch EV is well-done to allow them to make the switch to EV at minimal compromise on space and style.
